French Imports

What is it about French Foods? Hard to put your finger on it but you know when you see it or taste it. There are many food-related French expressions that have found a way into the American lexicon, such as haute cuisine, hors d'oeuvre, à la carte, and of course joie de vivre. We suspect the French joy of living is the reason that many of these French imported foods are so popular.
